The ladies 1st team finished the most successful season in years last night with an away win against Milngavie. Gillan Cloney and Jennifer Hutchison took all 3 sets, as did Jane Lees and Susan Weanie while Frances Rae and Julie Weanie narrowly lost their 2nd set 7-5 and were forced to concede the 3rd due to injury. With so many injuries, it is a real credit to the players that the team has finished the season winning all but 2 matches.

The Ladies 1st team have continued their successful season by beating Woodend Away last Thursday 6-3 and securing a 5-4 win against Giffnock last night. Jane Lees and Susan Weanie won both home and away, and Frances Rae, who was partnered by Judy Kirkwood then Ann Marie Lees all put in solid performances at 3rd couple. In the home game, it was 4 sets all with Gillian Cloney and Jennifer Hutchison being last on the court and 5-0 down in the deciding set. However, they clawed back to take the final set in a tie break and secure a team win.

THe 1st team had their 2nd victory of the season winning 6-3 at home against Kirkhill 1st, Stephen & Peter lost 3 sets at first to a strong couple, Allan & Alistair won 3 at 2nd and Calum lang in his first outing in the 1st team helped at 3rd for an easy 3 set victory. The team travel away to Craigellen on friday the 19th for their last match of the season hoping for a good result.

ON Friday the 29th of May the first team had their first win of the season beating Esporta Hamilton 7-2 at home, at first couple Des Boyd & Stephen McGhie had their first win of the season in a comfortable 3 set victory, at 2nd couple Stevie Mitchell & Peter Stewart won the first 2 sets but were disappointed to lose the third set, at third couple Allan McLellan and Alistair Flaherty in their first match of the season won the first 2 sets comfortably and also lost concentration to lose the 3rd.

On Thursday the 4th of June The first team lost 6-3 away to Bearsden 1st team. At first couple Des Boyd & Stephen Mcghie lost 2 sets to 1, they narrowly lost the first 2 sets but came back to win the 3rd, at 2nd couple Stevie Mitchell and Peter Stewart also lost 2 sets to 1, they lost a close first set won the second on a tie break and lost the 3rd set 6-4 in a match that lasted for 2 hours 30 minutes.At 3rd couple Alistair Flaherty and Allan Mclellan were beaten relatively easy in the first set but came back to force a tie break in the 2nd set which they were disappointed to lose 6-4, they used that disappoint in a postive way to win the last set 6-1. Although the team lost 6-3 to Beasden who are undefeated the result was very positive and the team all performed well

The Ladies 1st team beat Bishopton side 8-1 last night. Jennifer Hutchison and Gillian Cloney won 3 sets, coming back fro 4-0 down in the 3rd to clinch it 6-4. Jane Lees and Susan Weanie took 3 sets despite Jane aggravating a knee injury and Judy Kirkwood and Connie Charciewicz had a fantastic victory over the Bishopton 3rd couple culminating in a winning 3rd set tie break.

The Ladies 1st team secured a draw away against a strong Craighelen team last night. After marathon matches, Gillian and Jen at 1 and Jane and Judy at 2 both won 2 sets resulting in a win in rubbers but a 5-4 loss in sets. Frances and Ann Marie put in a solid performance at 3rd couple.
